I have been making a good living as a writer on the web and I have no special training, no college degree. What Happened to Me...

I needed to make an income and my own personal situation doesn't allow me to work outside the home. My partner has a brain injury and seizures are a very real part of that. Plus we have two children and let's face it -good, reliable childcare isn't cheap. So, I needed to find something I could do at home and still make a good income.

I had no experience and so I had to really start from the same point most of you will be starting from. I started by writing content for websites, soon I was blogging, writing and turning out words like a maniac and LOVING the money that came from it.

I have a career that literally allows me to work when I want and from anywhere I want. After I started making a steady income I got a WiFi laptop for $300 on Ebay (yeah, stop laughing) that allows me to work from anywhere.

When our older child is on vacation from school or we just want to get away, we can go anywhere we want and have an impromptu family getaway. Because neither of us is tied to an office or a job any longer!

Here are two recent examples of doing a little work while enjoying myself with the family.

This is the view from my bed in the hotel in Myrtle Beach where I was working in the morning while the kids were sleeping in. Work was done, breakfast arrived and we went out and enjoyed the day!	This is the view from our Cancun, Mexico hotel. I worked a little in the morning and then went to play in the beautiful sun and surf!
